Take a Daycation in the fabulous Hunter Valley

Notice the weather warming up lately? Perfect timing for a trip to the Hunter Valley.

On Sunday 18 October, Scarborough is throwing its very first Winery InstaMeet. Join the influencers of the social world for a Daycation in the Hunter as you photograph your path through glorious vineyards, taste and snap your way through a virtual winemaking blending session and discover some of the hidden treasures hiding in our Hunter backyard.

Everyone’s welcome. Whether you’re an Instagram tragic or simply keen for a good day out, we’d love to host you at our home, Scarborough Wine Co.

Everyone likes a little helpful advice, right? So while you’re there, professional Instagrammers such as Matthew Vandeputte (@matjoez), Emilie Ristevski (@helloemilie), Rob Mulally (@RobMulally) and Laura McWhinnie (@thisislandlife) will be on hand to divulge insider tips about taking better Instagram photos. It’s the perfect excuse to come and visit us.

When the grand tour is complete, enjoy Suckling Pig Sliders and a glass of Scarborough wine from The Cellar Restaurant while overlooking the most picturesque vineyards in the Hunter. Plus, there’s a chance to WIN a weekend escape to return to the Hunter Valley with your nearest and dearest, as well as other great prizes on the day.

So it’s over to you – make a weekend of it, or just come up for the day to get snap-happy and have a little Sunday fun in the vineyards.

Join Canon Australia for a food photography workshop. $50pp

Sorry, due to lack of registrations this workshop has now been cancelled.

Pick up tips and tricks from the Canon Collective and learn how to create fantastic food photographs.

This fun and practical experience will cover both creative and technical content. Along with photography basics, we'll share our composition and styling skills. Learn how to operate a camera other than in 'auto' mode using light to your advantage. Discover how to balance your exposure, control your focus and manipulate your depth of field, so you can create soft dreamy backgrounds so your subject pops out of the frame. You'll also learn how to balance your ISO, aperture and shutter speed to ensure you get the best results when you shoot food in natural light. We'll also have a small pop up studio set up for you to try shooting food with flash.

Canon will have EOS 70D Super Kits for you to use in the workshop and a range of professional lenses for you to test out. The SD card included is yours to keep, so you can take all your images home with you.
