Top 10 School Holiday Activities in the Hunter Valley

School holidays are just around the corner, and it’s the perfect opportunity for some family time in the Hunter Valley. Although it’s Winter and the days are certainly cooler, the Hunter Valley still produces the goods, with a variety of activities to keep the whole family entertained these school holidays.

Don't forget that we love kids at Scarborough, so much so that we have a fabulous kids zone with games, a giant blackboard to get creative and lots of lovely grassed areas to keep your kids entertained while you enjoy a tasting. Check out which cellar door you would like to visit here.

Hunter Valley Zoo
Open every day of the school holidays, the Hunter Valley Zoo is home to a wide range of animals: birds, meerkats, kangaroos, alligators, lions, and almost everything in between. The zoo offers daily shows and animal encounters – you can even feed some of the resident kangaroos!

Keeping with the animal theme, if you’re after something slightly more interactive for the kids, Hunter Valley Horse Riding may be just what you’re looking for. Snow Time in the Garden
During the July school holidays, Hunter Valley Gardens transforms into a Winter Wonderland. There’s an ice toboggan, giant ice skating rink, a snow play zone, and this year’s new attraction, the ‘Snow Cave’, filled with arctic creatures and falling ‘snow’. A fun family day out, especially if your little ones have never been to the snow.
