Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights Spectacular

So it turns out that although I can be a bit Grinchy this time of year that I do love Christmas lights. Well, maybe not so much that I love Christmas lights, but I love seeing how excited people (mainly kids, but some adults) get seeing Christmas lights up in all their merry splendour!

I went down to the Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights Spectacular on opening night and it truly was a fun experience and everyone there was so happy to be there. Despite the massive crowds, bumping of strollers, occasional kid losing the plot and lack of wine it was a really great night out.

There are some really great dinner options for before the lights in and around the Gardens. We ate at The Cellar Restaurant before and I will say that the Buffalo Mozzarella, Broad Bean and Hazelnut salad is delicious along with the scallops. A new restaurant has also just opened at the Mercure Hunter Valley Gardens which woudl be worth checking out as well.

The Christmas Lights Spectacular is now in its 8th year and are boasting around 1.5 million lights! That’s some serious power bills. But all jokes aside, if you and your family are heading to the Hunter Valley over the Christmas season, or if you just want to reconnect with your inner child you should definitely check out the Christmas Lights Spectacular at the Hunter Valley Gardens.
